Painting time

Today we started to paint our self-portraits. We painted skin colour onto them, and in the next few days plan on adding colours to paint the different features we all have. We can't wait to see them up on the wall! Stay tuned to see how they turn out!

Friday yoga

On Fridays we do yoga. This is a great way to stretch and become more flexible. We really enjoy it.

Aimee says "Yoga is cool".

Ivy says "Yoga is fun, we really stretch our bodies".

Reuben says "It's good exercise for our fitness".

Reading time

One of our reading activities is to make a sentence (that makes sense) with the magnetic words and letters. 

These two pairs did super work constructing a sentence. Ka pai!

Reminder

We are sharing an item at assembly this Friday. It would be great to see you there!

Technology time

The first day of computers.... We were so excited!!! We learnt how to get into our school blog and listen to stories. We can read them too!!

Reading time!

We have been using our WHISPERPHONES to help us during reading time. After we read a page we  talk into them so we can hear ourselves. We are working on reading like we are talking!

Congratulations Issy

Well done Issy on receiving a certificate at Dance & Drama today with Mrs Muir. You must have been giving it 100%, go you!

Our toy pictograph

Today we looked at all the favourite toys we had brought from home. We were able to sort them into groups and display the groups on a pictograph. We were then able to look at the graph and make statements about the results. Come and look at the graph we made, it's hanging on our classroom wall.

Room 19's masterpiece

Yippee! We have finished our amazing piece of art! We used our hands to make the leaves on the tree. We celebrate our differences in Room 19, the fact that we are all unique, but together we make a great team!

Swimming time

Thank goodness we all bought out togs today! We've had a great 1st week. Enjoy the long weekend.
