Writers Club!

Well done to Hunter, Josephine, Oliver, Archer and Shanaya who finished publishing their books! They planned, drafted, edited, illustrated and published their books, on a topic of their choice. Look out for these in our library corner!

Reader's Theatre

Assembly excitement

Wow it was a busy, fun assembly.
We were sharing today at assembly. We started with some Olympic trivia for the audience.
Hunter asked "What two new events were added to the Olympics this year, which we won silver in?"
The answer was Golf and Rugby 7s.
Aimee asked "What happened at these Olympics that was a first for one of our NZ woman athletes?"
The answer was that Lisa Carrington won two medals. This is the first time any NZ woman has won 2 medals at an Olympic Games!
We then all shared our awesome pictograms and the audience guessed what sports what they were.
To make sure we all knew what we were doing we practiced in class first.

At Assembly we also had a special visitor.
Harold came to help Mr Hewson give out certificates and say goodbye. We've loved having him at our school and learning about healthy eating.
When the celebration song played he even danced!

Speaking of certificates, Ka pai to Shanaya and Logan who received merit awards today! Keep working hard you two, we've noticed your efforts.
