We had so much fun cutting up our 15 pumpkins this week. It was messy! We had seeds and pulp everywhere! We wanted to save our seeds, so we can put them into the seed packets we designed.
After we had separated the seeds from the middle, we all took two pieces of pumpkin and went to the staffroom. Miss Z helped us put the pieces into the oven so they would be all soft. In the afternoon Ziggy's mum and Aimee's mum helped us scrape the pumpkin off the skin.
Miss Z added some chicken stock, garlic and onions and mixed all the ingredients together to make yummy soup.
On Tuesday we had a pumpkin soup party! We invited our families and shared our pumpkin art, singing, drama and pumpkin research. Then we ate our pumpkin soup with them. It was delicious!
Keep an eye out for our seeds this week, we can plant them when the weather gets warmer, then we can grow lots more pumpkins!
